For the month of December, I am participating in Gwen Bell’s The Best of 2009 Blog Challenge. The challenge is to respond to a daily writing/photo prompt that reflects on this past year. Oh, and if you want to join me I would love to hear your stories and memories, leave a comment or a link to your site.
12/18: Shop. Online or offline, where did you spend most of your mad money this year?
On film processing at a little camera store in town. I recently picked up a roll of film shot during a road tip in August.
It’s 3 p.m. D, L, and I sit inside a parked car at Niagara Falls State Park. The Rainbow Center in front of us houses a parking garage surrounded by a few restaurants serving fast international fare along and a corner souvenir shop.
A white van pulls up to the curb. Both passengers doors open. Inside, there is a film crew. One guy steps onto the sidewalk and meters the scene. The cameraman waits.
Someone yells action. A couple walks by. The camera steadies and the van starts rolling. They turn right at the corner and drive toward the Park’s entrance.
We turn in the opposite direction and drive to Erie, Pennsylvania.
