We’re having a few people over for Thanksgiving dinner again this year. Which means, late at night, when only the cat and I are still awake, I flip through magazines and cookbooks in search of a new dish for the holiday table. I also turned to fellow bloggers in the Foodista Best of Food Blogs Cookbook (a collection of 100 stand-out recipes from select food blogs), I took note of these recipes to fit the season.
Chanterelle Mushrooms with Blue Cheese Pie (Junglefrog Cooking)
Spicy Pumpkin Soup (The Kitchen of Oz)
Broiled Honey-Glazed Spiced Figs (Seattle Food Geek)
Fennel and Orange Salad with Toasted Hazelnuts and Cranberries (Kiss My Spatula)
Arugula Salad with Pomegranate, Avocado, and Goat Cheese (Healthy Green Kitchen)
Even if you’re not cooking a Thanksgiving spread, you may want to try these out or buy a copy of the cookbook to have on hand. My recipe for Gluten-Free Quinoa and Corn Flour Crepes with Strawberry-Maple Filling is in the book as well.
To celebrate the book’s October 19th release, Foodista is offering a prize giveaway for those who purchase a book on November 3, 2010 from 10 to 11 am PDT. (MDT: 11 am – 12 pm; CDT: 12 – 1 pm; EDT: 1 – 2 pm). You can find more prize details including gift cards from Amazon and Mad Wine, a Zojirushi rice cooker, Andrews McMeel Cookbooks, among other prizes here.
p.s. I don’t receive any financial benefit from book sales. I just wanted to tell you about it.
