I’m participating in Gwen Bell’s #reverb10 challenge this month which means 31 days filled with daily writing/photography prompts meant to reflect on the past year and at the same time look ahead.
December 20 – Beyond Avoidance. What should you have done this year but didn’t because you were too scared, worried, unsure, busy or otherwise deterred from doing? (Bonus: Will you do it?) (Author: Jake Nickell)
I wanted to photograph more with film this year. Instead, I recorded the year with a digital camera, mostly because the “negatives” rather raw files are instant. I don’t have to go into a bootleg darkroom set up in my kitchen or wait around for a photo lab to process the negatives. Click, then edit. No scanning or dusting involved. Plus, I didn’t have to lug the digital Nikon and the Pentax K1000 plus rolls of film around, not to mention adding the Polaroid or Fuji Instax to the heavy load. They call me bag lady around here. What can I say, the title fits.
