I’m participating in Gwen Bell’s #reverb10 challenge this month which means 31 days filled with daily writing/photography prompts meant to reflect on the past year and at the same time look ahead.
December 3 – Moment. Pick one moment during which you felt most alive this year. (Author: Ali Edwards)
It’s Friday night. We’re walking down Main Street in a pocket city peppered with artists and students and farmers. The streets are charcoal black with dots of white light. Leaves scuttle behind our footsteps as the air taunts chiles and almonds from the Mexican restaurant on the next block. A couple leans into silhouette as we pass by the art gallery, I slow to pause. Images of war line the walls. Cutaways of World Wars I & II are shown through the eyes of photographer Sondra Peron. Captivated by the scars of war burrowed into our collective memories, I couldn’t move but to pick up my camera in response.
