december 8—ice cubes on sidewalk

Last night I found these ice cubes left behind on the sidewalk by the hilltop cemetery. I was on a walk and became transfixed by the beauty of these ice cubes. Each one was in various stages of melting. An experiment in time. Reflections of light that someone tossed on the sidewalk to sparkle and puddle before sunset.
