Hi. Summer's finally here and I couldn't be happier. The Mister and I are minutes away from hopping in the car for a road trip to Memphis for lots of Blues, barbecue, and hot hot Tennessee days. (Sorry, Butte. You'll have to wait a little longer.) I feel like it's the last day of school right before the bell rang and we were free. Mrs. K handed out report cards before we sailed into summer like a handful of water balloons suspended in an endless summer breeze. I climbed on my red banana seat bike, stashed my book bag in the wicker basket fixed to the silver speckled handlebars, and rode home knowing that this will be the best summer, ever. We drove to Lake Michigan in our small MG, top down the wind knotting our hair. I checked out stacks of library books, swam at the pool, played dodgeball, and ran and sang everywhere I went. The tent went up in the yard for sleepovers. Some years, we camped. Others, we hit the road. We'll see how far we get today and over the next week or so, I'll check in with stories and photos to share. Until then, I'll leave you with this rockin' bluesy road mix plus a peek inside my camera case (which I'll probably repack at the last minute, one should always carry a Diana or Holga when traveling). Bye, for now.
