Happy June! Last month's Story in a Frame Instagram challenge pushed my work in new ways so I decided to create part two to share with you. If you played along, what did you think? I'll put together a post with my images soon. For now, I'm jumping in again. If you’ve taken one of my photo e-courses or completed a creative 365 day project of your own, then you understand how a daily habit helps improve your craft. Routine habits are a sure-fire way to hold yourself accountable. Storytelling plays a big role in my writing and photography. I studied fine art and editorial photography in graduate school and apply a strong narrative craft to the work I’m creating. Stories also connect us to moments and to each other. Using narrative techniques in photography creates meaningful strong images. If you subscribe to email updates here, then you’ve heard mention of the new storytelling photography e-course I’m writing called, Story in a Frame. The course teaches you how to craft meaningful photographs through storytelling. I can’t wait until the course is bundled up and ready to share. Until then, I thought it would be fun to create a second story-inspired Instagram challenge. Capture a story snippet with your favorite camera (mine will be an iPhone). Feel free to interpret the prompts literally or figuratively. Complete all 31 or only 1, it’s up to you. Of course there will be an extra day, so you can roll right into August 1st or choose to skip a day. Make this challenge your own. If you play along, and I hope you do, use the #storyinaframe hashtag so we can find and follow along on Instagram. p.s. You can check out the Story in a Frame (Part 1) prompts here. Ready, click, go!
