Sunday: After yoga, coffee, and leftover Chinese food, I put the little one down for a nap. I held him in my arms and hummed Amazing Grace until he fell asleep. I sat in the living room, computer on my lap and just as I wrote, Her kitchen is the one you’re already familiar with and likely frequent often, our neighbor stopped by with the dishtowel and container we left at the party. I thanked her for the party and said goodbye. Before long, the little one woke and we drove to Amherst to pick up one of my photographs from the gallery. Back home, radio on, I listened to American Routes and thought about songs and stories of the Mississippi River.
