Hello. Happy Autumn. We drove to Maine and back despite our car breaking down and almost missing the cutoff time to rent a replacement for the weekend. We beat the odds, celebrated a birthday and anniversary and made it home, a day late in our own car no longer sputtering, circuits blown. Time well spent at the beach, walks, juice treks, and Tim Tam/animal cracker runs to the grocery (we all have our weaknesses). This photo kicks off the season's diptych, instant black & white shots taken with the Polaroid Spectra, at Sundays on Film, which if you haven't visited before, is a photo collaboration between myself and artist friend Jojo. The novel pages come slow and steady in a Word document though after reading about Michael Ondaatje's writing method: handwritten novel drafts are done in notebooks that include poem fragments, images, and maps I'm left wanting a visual layout of my process. Maybe for draft #2, we'll see.
