Hi there. Welcome to my blog, Art & Lemons. My name is Nikki Gardner and I’m an artist, cook, and writer obsessed with good food, photos, and stories. I started cooking at age seven and I hold an MFA in Creative Writing and completed coursework for an MFA candidate in Photography/Studio Arts. I teach film and digital photography workshops throughout the States as well as cooking classes throughout New England. My online photography e-course, Develop Your Habit & Style opens for registration February 2014 and my book chapter Design, Shoot, & Show — Your iPhone Photo Project is available for purchase in ebook and print formats at Amazon.
I started this blog five years ago as a place to keep up with my writing and photography habit. Pieces of everyday life entered in, food and recipes included. I’m a book nerd who likes to watch movies, travel, and dance. I shoot with film and digital formats although, my heart truly belongs to film. I adore vintage clothing, kitchen ware, and old Polaroid films.
I like to think of this space as a communal studio, where we share coffee, swap stories, and make food and art. You can expect to find creative inspiration, photo tutorials, cooking videos, and vegetarian recipes made with whole and natural ingredients (often sourced close to home). Come on in and grab a seat. Feel free to make a mess (no clean up required). I hope you leave here inspired to tell or story or two, start a new art project, or make a meal for someone you love.
Thanks for stopping by.
