MODERN MOM

THE MODERN MOM

They remain just as loving and caring, but how different is the image and style of the modern mom from the Turgenev lady and the Soviet housewife.

Modern moms are now very active.

Many of them are already in their second month after childbirth working at home, and the activities of young moms are very diverse. Of course, the favorite topic of most is, of course, children’s: children’s clothing, bedding, especially educational toys. After all, who but mothers, understand the importance of choice. Social networks are now enjoying tremendous popularity, and the opportunity to post products and services there for free is met with gratitude by millions of users.
Moms are blogging, attending trade shows, taking online classes, and working.

The modern mom is not just a mom, but a super mom.

With advances in technology, the debate around the question “should mom work or stay home with the baby” is now meaningless. Because more and more modern moms are making money from the comfort of their own home.
A modern mom can easily find the information she needs on the Internet, allowing her to save time and money on the right specialist. The number of bloggers who openly share their experiences of motherhood is growing among moms. Western studies have shown that more than 80% of moms appreciate and find their recommendations useful. There is more understanding in moms today about mental health and interpersonal relationships because there is a lot of open talk about it.

Moms today treat their children as friends.

Many of them feel that this is a good way to raise their children, which gives them both a certain freedom and independence. Today they are trying to understand what their children are into, they are actively exploring new programs and hobbies that their children are into, not wanting to feel left out and excluded.

Moms lack resources

But the paradox is that today’s generation of moms are well-off, educated and more knowledgeable than any other generation of moms of the past, yet they are more lacking in internal resources, lacking balance in their lives, feeling overwhelmed and acutely experiencing any, even minor, setback.
Today’s time requires them to be more organized, purposeful and ambitious, to give fully of themselves, and to be skilled. The “standards” of motherhood have changed and become much higher. Mothers today are overloaded with unrealistic pictures and images of what she, her baby and his family should look like, how her leisure time should go, such motherhood and how femininity should manifest itself. For many moms it is an impossible task, so low self-esteem, devastation, guilt, and hopelessness are frequent companions of moms.
